CFNR Library Hosts Flag-Raising Ceremony in ASEAN-Inspired Attire

The College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR) Library led the flag-raising ceremony on 03 February 2025, in front of Florencio Tamesis Hall. The activity highlighted regional heritage and cultural pride, with faculty and staff wearing ASEAN-inspired attire that upholds the dignity of public service while ensuring comfort and inclusivity, as emphasized in Civil Service Commission (CSC) Memorandum Circular No. 16, s. 2024.

This initiative aligned with the nationwide observance of cultural heritage appreciation and reinforced the significance of ASEAN traditions in public service. The CFNR community actively participated, with college librarians and staff leading the activity in traditional attire representing Southeast Asia’s diverse cultures.

Ms. Sarah Jane P. Berbo, Head College Librarian, spoke about balancing personal goals with self-care and embracing cultural diversity. She also highlighted key observances in February, including World Wetlands Day, National Arts Month, and International Mother Language Day, underscoring the importance of environmental protection and cultural celebration.

CFNR Dean Marlo D. Mendoza, along with unit chairs and directors, provided institutional updates and discussed college matters.

To add an interactive element, Ms. Nathalie F. Esguerra and Mr. Juan Karlo L. Caligdong facilitated a “Bring Me” game, which engaged participants and created a lively atmosphere. The activity successfully combined cultural appreciation, community engagement, and institutional updates, making it a meaningful start to the month.
