OER COURSEWARE

The Habitable Planet: A Systems Approach to Environmental Science is a course for high school teachers and undergraduate students in environmental science. The content course will help teachers of biology, chemistry, and Earth science to provide more content in their classes. The course components include 13 half-hour video programs, a coordinated website which includes the streamed video programs, the course text online, five interactive simulations, background on the scientists who created the content and those whose research is documented, a professional development guide, and additional resources.

This course consists of 51 compressed video lectures on different subtopics under the study of biology and ecology

Joint project by the APFNet and AP-FECM, this OER consists of six (6) web-based self-directed courses on sustainable forest management (SFM):

  1. Sustainable Forest Management in a Changing World
  2. Forest Governance, Public Relations, and Community Development
  3. International Dialogue on Forestry Issues
  4. Restoration of Degraded Forest Ecosystems and Forest Plantation Development
  5. Sustainable Use of Forest Ecosystem Services

SoilWeb200 provides students with online, interactive, graphical, video and text-based information to assist them in understanding fundamental soil science concepts. It also relates these concepts to various soil management issues.

Virtual Soil Science Learning Resources (VSSLR) group is focused on developing innovative, open-access educational resources for a variety of undergraduate and graduate natural resource courses and programs.

Various web-based learning resources and online courses developed by the group are featured at this site.

USGS provide science about the natural hazards that threaten lives and livelihoods; the water, energy, minerals, and other natural resources we rely on; the health of our ecosystems and environment; and the impacts of climate and land-use change. Our scientists develop new methods and tools to supply timely, relevant, and useful information about the Earth and its processes; providing real-time or near real-time data and information on current conditions and earth observations.
