The CFNR Library recently held a productive Planning Workshop on 06 August 2024, with the theme “Developing a Framework for Enhanced Navigation Readiness”. The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of collaboration in fulfilling the library’s mission, encourage creativity and innovation within the team, and develop a framework that clearly outlines the library’s goals and direction.
The workshop began with opening remarks by Ms. Sarah Jane B. Pomay-Berbo, the head college librarian. She emphasized the critical outcomes expected from the session: (1) A 10% increase in project completion rates and improved alignment with the library’s strategic goals for the next academic year through enhanced collaboration among staff; (2) The implementation of two new projects proposed by team members, along with positive feedback on workplace environment and inclusivity; and (3) The establishment of a strategic plan with clear milestones and metrics, leading to greater efficiency and improved service delivery, as measured by audits and user feedback.
Following the opening remarks, each staff member presented their accomplishments for A.Y. 2023-2024 discussing timelines, involved personnel, resource requirements, challenges encountered, evaluation measures, assumptions, and recommendations. This review allowed the team to assess the past year’s activities and gain valuable insights for future planning. The next part of the program involved reporting on plans for A.Y. 2024-2025, laying the foundation for ongoing improvements at the CFNR Library. Staff members worked in small groups based on their service areas to propose and present two new and innovative projects for future implementation.
The workshop concluded with Ms. Pomay-Berbo offering final reminders for the upcoming semester and commending the team for their collective efforts. The event was synthesized by college librarians, Mr. Lyjhey V. Flora and Ms. Janine P. Cruz, who summarized the key takeaways from the workshop.
